Paternity Leave

Dr Kass is excited (and somewhat terrified, to be completely honest) to welcome a second baby boy in mid-December. Dr Jean Hung will be covering the practice while he’s on leave (and sporadically beforehand so Dr Kass has a chance to get things done at home to get ready!). You’ll be able to schedule through the same widget, and if you have an appointment already scheduled for a time that happens to fall during the leave, that appointment will be moved to Dr Hung’s schedule. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns!

About Dr Hung:

Dr Jean Hung is a licensed naturopathic primary care physician and completed a two-year CNME-accredited pediatric residency at The Kid’s Clinic. She has had a life-long passion working with kids announcing to her own doctor as an 8 year old that she was going to grow up to be a pediatrician, and her heart had been set since. She has volunteered in the Big Brother/ Big Sister program, as a camp counselor, educated families at the Pacific Science Center, and worked with mothers and children going through domestic violence during her undergraduate research.

Dr Hung performs newborn visits, well-child exams, sports physicals, acute/sick visits, birth control medication management, vaccine counseling and administration, and focuses on preventative medicine. Jean also works with children who have asthma, allergies, eczema, anxiety, depression, gastrointestinal conditions, autoimmune conditions, ADHD, and autism. She combines standards of care from conventional medicine with evidence-based integrative medicine to develop comprehensive treatment plans that address the unique needs of each child.

Dr Hung completed her undergraduate studies in psychology and microbiology at the University of Washington. She graduated from naturopathic medical school at Bastyr University and received her doctorate in 2016. She completed additional rotations at Seattle Children’s Hospital, Country Doctor, NeighborCare Health, Naturopathic Family Medicine, Mary’s Place (services for homeless women and children), and numerous clinics with both naturopathic physicians and conventional pediatricians.

Dr Hung is a professional member of PedANP (Pediatric Association of Naturopathic Physicians), WANP (Washington Association of Naturopathic Physicians), Integrative Medicine for the Underserved, and the Institute of Functional Medicine.

Outside the clinic, her passions lies in long-distance running, badminton, authentic Asian home cooking, and hosting board game gatherings.
