Newborns are seen often in the first weeks to make sure feeding is going well and everyone is adjusting well to life outside the womb. We provide prompt visits -- same day if necessary -- and can manage newborn blood draws, newborn metabolic screening, and if not done previously, critical congenital heart defect screening and hepatitis B vaccine. We facilitate newborn hearing screening if not previously done, though we don't do them in the office.
Newborns are typically seen at 3-5 days, 7-14 days, and 1 month.
We want to hear if you are having a tough time with parenting -- anxiety and depression can rob you of the joy of parenting, and help is available.
Infants are seen at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 9 months, and 12 months. Toddlers are seen at 15, 18, 24, 30 and 36 months. Kids are seen annually after that.
Most parents have lots of questions -- write them down or send them in and we'll try to answer all of them. We'll spend lots of time talking about your developing baby and your evolution as a parent, along with big milestones like starting solids, babyproofing, and the fickle appetites of toddlers.
We were trained by the Arcora Foundation to provide oral health care in the primary care setting, including basic dental exams, oral health education, and application of fluoride varnish to prevent cavities. Baby teeth are important!
We love vaccines. We love talking about vaccines and answering questions about vaccines. We offer and recommend the full on-time CDC schedule, as it is the most efficient way to get your baby protected as soon as possible.
We reserve multiple same-day slots for acute/sick visits. Please text us if you don’t see an opening and we’ll figure out how to work you in.
Ongoing primary care is an important relationship for teens.
Though we primarily serve babies and kids, it is in our scope to treat adults, and if it is helpful and appropriate to refer for counseling, evaluation and treatment, along with prescribing medication to start turning things around.
“Dr. Kass is a godsend for new parents. Visits are never rushed, he gives recommendations that are evidence-based and specific to your child and circumstances. Data eases my mom anxiety and he’s always got plenty to provide. Huge on parent education, which is wonderful as a first, and now even a second time mom. I see a lot of friends struggling with all the baby and toddler unknowns, but the great thing about Dr. Kass is YOU CAN ASK HIM QUESTIONS. He makes communication and scheduling ridiculously convenient. He’s about 45 minutes away from me. I’ve tried switching to closer but offices, but once you’ve received this level of care, it’s impossible to go back to the traditional model of 10 minute visits with doctors looking to give you a quick answer and move on to the next patient. It’s a worthwhile drive for us.” — MB, Google Review
